How can we contribute to sustainability?
Textiles play a huge role in our lives. They are used for clothing, home decoration and many other purposes, and they also have a significant impact on our environment. The textile industry is one of the most polluting industries in the world. Textile production uses 10% of global energy and generates 30% of industrial waste. As we can understand, the environmental impact of textiles is huge. This is why they need to be addressed to achieve sustainable development goals. To tackle environmental issues, it is imperative that we focus on sustainable textiles that minimize pollution and resource consumption while maintaining their utility as textile materials. Using recycled materials or natural fibers as much as possible instead of synthetic ones and, most importantly, reusing old ones are the primary ways to make textiles more sustainable. Sustainable textiles are types of environmentally friendly fabrics. They are made from natural fabrics such as cotton and hemp or recycled items such as plastic bottles. These fabrics are durable and biodegradable. As Teks-Pro, in order to minimize these damages, we always try to work with recycled polyester, cotton, which is a natural fiber, and organic cotton, which dissolves very quickly in nature and has absolutely no harm to the tissue and life.
