How do we contribute to sustainability?
Textile occupies a very large place in our lives. They are used for many purposes such as clothing, home decorations and more, and they also have a significant impact on our environment. The textile industry is among the most polluting industries in the world. Textile production uses 10% of global energy and generates 30% of industrial waste. As we can understand, the environmental impact of textiles is great. This is why they need to be addressed in order to achieve sustainable development goals. In order to overcome environmental problems, we have to focus on sustainable textiles that will minimize the pollution and consumption of resources while maintaining its usefulness as a textile material. Using recycled materials or natural fibers as much as possible instead of synthetic ones, especially most importantly; re-evaluating old ones are the primary methods of making textiles more sustainable. Sustainable textiles are environmentally friendly fabric types. They are made from natural fibers such as cotton and hemp, or recycled items such as plastic bottles. These fabrics are durable and biodegradable. As Teks-Pro, we always try to carry out our work with recycled polyester among the fabrics we prefer to use in order to minimize these damages, as well as cotton which is a natural fiber, organic cotton that dissolves very quickly in nature and has absolutely no harm to tissue and life.
